Recycling is easier than you think.
Collect all plastics, plastic bags, metals, glass, newspapers, cardboard, batteries, TetraPak cartons (which juice & soy milk come in) & E-waste.

Road-Side/Street Recyclers
Accept all paper, metals, glass (only the Mapsu Recycle Center – next to the petrol pump in Mapsu (on the road from Saligao) - takes glass) & all plastics!
Village Panchayats
Accept all plastics, including plastic bags.
- Parra Panchayat on the road from Calangute to Mapsu, will recycle your plastics. Be aware, some Panchayats may only send plastics to landfill. Inquire at your Panchayat before dropping-off your recycling.
Goa Dairy Milk Booths
Collect 100 empty Goa Dairy Milk packets, clean & dry, and receive a free packet of milk, or just drop off the ones you collect for recycling.
TetraPak Cartons
Drop-off at designated schools, rinsed & folded.

Don’t Buy Leather or Fur
Be compassionate. Do not purchase items made from leather or fur (ie; belts, wallets, shoes, bags, etc.). Each time you buy something made from skin, more beings will suffer as a direct result. More than one BILLION animals are slaughtered each year and suffer unimaginable pain because of the leather and fur industry.

Plastic Water Bottles
Use less plastic, feel FANTASTIC!
Minimize your use of 1-liter water bottles and other plastic containers.
Buy 5-liter “Bisleri” bottles. You pay a small, refundable bottle deposit.
Buy 20-liter bottles with an inexpensive dispenser stand to make pouring easier.
Refill your empty, used bottles for a few Rupees at restaurants, like “Bean Me Up”, that have water filters.
“NO” to Plastic Bags
It's easy to bring your own bags for shopping. Plastic bags do not biodegrade and billions end up in rivers and oceans. Cows die slow, painful deaths from eating plastic bags. Thank you for helping to make Goa a safer place for cows.

Conserve Water
The tourist season puts an enormous strain on local water supplies. Please conserve when you shower, brush your teeth and wash your dishes.
Things You Leave Behind
Donate your unwanted belongings to IAR or El Shaddai.
IAR accepts clothing, jewelry & books to sell for fund raising, as well as towels, blankets & newspaper for use in the Rescue Center. Drop off donations at IAR Goa in Assagao.
